Complete List of Members?

Maybe I can't find it, but where is the directory listing of all registered members and their "rank"? On other forums I go to you can see the complete list of members. :dunno:

Good question!

I poked around, but ended up scratching my head on this one. I even looked in the Mod/Admin-only Vbulletin control panel section, but couldn't find an easy-access full member list.

Mod, Admin -- do any of you guys know where that might exist?

Teej, not to increase your workload, but....

Let's assume, for the moment, that such a list exists or can be created. First questions would be "Why create one" and "Is it appropriate information to make available"? I'll leave those to wiser heads than mine---I don't have a dog in either fight. However, if one is available or is created, a date-of-most-recent-post might be made part of the list. There's a zillion people who come for a short time, get what they need and leave: nothing wrong with that. Any useful list would be one that allows the sorting of wheat from chaff.

I agree with Reckers, I'm not sure I'd make available to general membership a complete list of users. The usual reason for wanting this is for SPAM or to pirate members to another site.

As an Admin on other vB sites, I had access to this information through the Admin control panel, but it wasn't available to the general membership.

Well it's not like a spammer can't get hundreds of names easily anyway. Just look at the list of members active in the last 24 hours at the bottom of the forum.

Spammers typically only have a few posts - so you could make the list available to members having greater than X number of posts (100, 200, etc.), this should be configurable via permissions.

The guy who used to be the super mod B&M said it is restricted as they had some problems. I asked when I first signed up here.

I know of another site that did the same thing recently, as they had some kind of problem too.
