MTF Members,

Christian on our Admin team reports that he and MTF's parent family have a booth at the upcoming 2012 Nuremberg Toy Fair ... one of the world's largest toy-themed shows.

Per his post below, he'd like MTF member's input on things to monitor at the show: questions to ask other participants; things and new items to watch for; ideas to spread the good-news about our MTF; etc.

Chime in with any thoughts ... your input will certainly be well received.

We have a stand (in Hall 7 which is diecast and model kits and right next to trains) and are there for the whole week. Can you guys ask the members what they want to see in terms of photos, what questions we should ask etc? We are trying to meet 200 companies and will ask any questions that our folks are interested in.

Regards,

TJ

I'll toss in a few (perhaps obvious) things, though I really have no idea as to the format / content of the big Nuremburg show ...

1. General promotion / expansion of MTF. How best to do this? Online word of mouth? Hard-copy advertising (train magazines, flyers, etc.)?

2. We have a pretty diverse family of members' interests here. Perhaps as you cruise the show, maybe some photos and/or interesting examples of what's new or exciting in:

a. the world of DCC / automated train and accessory control.

b. examples of super-tiny trains/layouts: T scale and the like

c. any human-powered / ridden train stuff (like Choo Choo's backyard setup)

d. innovations in anything LED (light emitting diode) oriented ... popular subject here.

e. anything on model train nostalgia ... examples of old European model trains, and the like.

f. As a self-critique here at MTF, I think we're pretty lame with our (non-existant!) Events Calendar. Any updates on upcoming events that we could mention here, and any tech insight on how we can "turn on" our Calender and update it on a regular basis.

Hope that give you some initial thoughts!
