Adhesive spray for trees

I have a portable layout that I have to stand on its side when its not in use. I'm ready to put some trees in. However, I have to make sure the trees don't drop their "leaves" while the layout is stored on its side. What is the best spray to use to ensure that the fall season never reaches my layout?

I spray over mine with a coat of Testor's DulCote.

Ditto. My old club used to use hair spray. Cheaper than Dulcoat.
