................a room in your home of a size of your chioce and an unlimited amount of money and time to work on your favorite hobby? Model RR'ing of course. ;)
Before I answer this question I will say that I have a 20' by 10' room in my basement that I am slowly working on turning into my dream model RR layout room. The unlimited money is a fantasy. :D And the amount of time is pretty much open for me.
I have tons of ideas and will eventually share them here with anyone that shares their thoughts or just reads my posts.

The first thing I would do is finish the floor, walls, and cieling. Someone started this and never finished.
Then I would work on the lighting.
My next thing would be to build benchwork for my layout. I would use the walls for this with more than one level to acomadate more than one layout in a couple different scales.
Before starting any layouts I would also make plenty of organizers for all of my supplies. Ya know, shelves, drawers, cabinettes..........

Well, I have no clue what I would actually do, but I would hope that I could steal a room out of my actual house for my trains rather than the basement...
But if I do ever get a wife, I may just end up in the basement, LOL :knock_teeth_out:
I think I would end up having the basics that every room has, a bunch of display cases along with a HUGE layout

I'm going to do the same. I started renovating a large 10x20 room in my basement a year ago and never go past the demolition part. I hope to finish off the room sometime this year.
Half of it will be used for home theater and the rest will be devoted to Marklin HO layout.

That's cool tworail.
My space right now is in the basement and mostly full of storage stuff that I should just chuck but still hang onto. The main obstical is the heating ducts. I have to duck to not bang my head more than a few times a day or night. Oh, and the lighting sucks big time. That is something I have got to fix.
Back on topic.
The next thing I would do with all of that money I wish I had is buy every kit in every scale that I can find and bash it into several layouts.
I would also hire an artist to paint great backdrops for everthing because I can't paint worth a crap. :lol_hitting:

Backdrop painting isn't as bad as it sounds. Even at the most basic level, anyone can paint a sky blue background then use a sponge with white paint to make 'clouds'. Experimentation is key. I haven't done it myself but maybe I'll give it a shot.
Once you get into more detailed scenes it does get more difficult.

I guess you are correct about that, but if I had unlimited cash flow I would want to spend all of my time with the trains and hire an artist for painting. :D
