Well. Today was my second last day of work. I brought all my stuff home, finally being able to get my monitors setup at home

First, the boxes:

Some POLA kits I had totally forgotten about stashed in my desk :o

Some serious mounting hardware (bad pic I know)

Current office - it's never this clean btw

Odd looking isn't it??

Monitors mounted:

All setup :D

For the hardware geeks, it's powered by an Nvidia Quadro 280 with dual DVI output. Great for this, sucks for gaming. Monitors are 19" Samsung DVI LCDs.

I had some more goodies in the box but I'll save that for another day...

LOL, I will post here what I posted in the gallery because it is worth it - "Dude, that is friggin' awsome!"

This is what I want to do to my computer most of the time http://www.fordforums.com/images/smilies/smashpc.gif

Thanks. It costs as much as the computer (well a couple years ago) but it's the best investment I have made in technology. My eyes thank me :)

And I get all the chicks with this setup :D

Hey, that's all that really matters ;)

I like how you have one monitor horizonal and the other vertical, it is a really nice touch...

Yeah, I actually tried it the other way for a bit.. both horizontal. But it makes the damn thing almost 3 ft long.. I actually had to move my head a lot in the other direction to look at the monitor.

This way looks way cooler and is more functional.

Now imagine having 4 or 6 monitors...

That would be crazy... You should use Google and see some setups people have made using three large HD TV's to play Forza Morotsport 2 (Xbox 360) on... It is just crazy, some even have a small one for the rear-view mirror

For lack of a better location, I thought I'd share these pics here. Driving up I-65 in northern Indiana, you suddenly come across a new windfarm. I was up that way two weeks ago and they were still stationary, but now most of them seem to be working. These things are huge!

Are you retiring, John? Or did the economy force you to seek the unemployment line?

Nice rig by the way. I've got a souped up, tricked out Gateway with a 24" flatty. Upgraded the RAM to 8G, added an internal 1T HD for storage to accompany the 500G already in the machine, and an Invidia 9600GT PCI-E video card. It's faster than any machine I've ever been on. and the graphics are unbelievable. All of the added upgrades forced me to upgrade the PSU to 500w and add a second larger fan for cooling. It's maxed out. I'd have to change motherboards to do any more mods.

I've given thought to a second monitor, but have yet to figure out where I'd put it. I used to design on a dual monitor system, but really have no need for one now. I can split screen the current set up and do all I need to do. But a dual screen is definitely a great conversation piece, if nothing else. lol

And you really get chicks with that thing? Hmmmm.

but it is a nice set up. i'm very particular with my monitors (since that what i do for work - stare at them)

Couldn't help it, tankist...I couldn't find the windfarm thread! By the way, I found a website on that windfarm----222 of those things out there, 262' tall at the hub, and almost 300' in diameter!

I couldn't find the windfarm thread! You are free to create your own threads if they do not already exist, LOL ;)

I considered starting a new thread for the windfarm thing. What made me reconsider was the thought of tankist frantically trying to find some N or HO scale models for his new layout. I decided not to put that kind of pressure on him.

not to mention the windmill post perfectly matches the thread subj "what do we have here" and that makes mr reckers on topic even. )

reckers, a appreciate your thoughtfulness. i am easily pressured and at a times can even go bananas, . here is my contribution to the discussion:

That's definitely one to ponder, tankist---an excellent choice. You watch: by this time next week, Derick will have sculpted that puppy into a 4-6-4 and sold it for $1100.
