On a couple of German train sites I found the initials llm, and I think it's a scale, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know?

I have no clue what LLM is... Maybe you should use an online translator to see what the context around it says... Could you post the hyperlinks to the sites here? I searched on Google and eBay and absolutely nothing came up :dunno:

Actually I got a response from my contact at B'mann on this. It's apparently a German name for G scale, or something very approximately G scale.

It's not LLM, it's IIm or "Two-m" for metre gauge models, like HOm is for metre gauge. Gauge II is for standard gauge, scale is 1:22,5.

Thanks for the correction of an old post. Lownen has not been around but was very active in blogs. An interesting character to say the least.
