Yes absolutely, you can easily remotor trains and in many cases get performance that well exceeds the factory motor. Prior to running a train store I did website development work including the Pittman Motors Intranet/Extranet & Internet sites. You may want to look there first for a replacement motor, they are the cream of the crop for small dc motors, and have complete motor curves.
