Mine has to be a place called Dano's located in Plaistow, NH... They serve pizza, subs, salads, chicken fingers, etc... I believe that the owners are Greek, but I can not say that for sure and am only judging by their accent... When I go there I like to get a steak sub (yes, no cheese) with pickles

For a sub to be good the pickles need to be chopped into small cubes, just like Dano's does... Then their steak is always grilled to perfection... Personally, I wish that they had a size bigger then their current large as it does not quite fill me up :o

I brought my friend to this place last week and he absolutely loved it, saying it was way better than Papa Gino's subs, LOL :D

A close runner up would have to be Clam Haven in Derry, NH, but they are not open all year round so that is why I give the title to Dano's ;)

Bobcat Bite. Right around the corner from me. Last year GQ named it one of the "10 Burgers you MUST eat before you die." It's a tiny little dive with only four tables (plus three on the patio in the summer, but there's a several hour wait when the tourists are in town). Their hours are 11:47 AM to 6:48 PM wed through sun.

Close second is Horseman's Haven, which advertises the "hottest green chile in Santa Fe." It is. And their green chile cheeseburger is a knife and fork heat fest.

For more local fair it's Tomasita's, which is very traditional and very popular with the tourists. The whole front wall is covered with a sign warning the tourists that everything is covered in very spicy chile, and if you're weak of stomach you need to ask for it on the side.

In keeping with the train theme....
There are 2 great places to eat on the other side of my state in downtown Kansas City.
One is Harveys in the old Union Station. And another place is called Fritz's. Your food is delivered by train.

They are about a 5 minute walk from eachother.
Both are kind of greasy diner type places... delicious. :)

They closed for the season last Sunday; I will miss those hot dogs and chicken fingers! :(
