I just bought a Conrail sd-70, Kato Engine paid $50.00 for it. Is that a fair price, and is Kato a Good brand? I have herd of them a little, but I don't know to much about them.
Thanks
John

Yes Kato is a good brand, I don't have any myself though. If the one you bought is new Wow yes you got a good deal. If it is not new I don't know and I doubt if anyone else will with out more info.

Here (http://www.katousa.com/index1.html) is Kato USA's website... By the looks of it an HO Scale SD70 costs $150.00 brand new, although they do not have your Conrail engine listed on their site... Not much else I can say since I am no HO expert :o

KATO is one of the best brands on the market. You got a deal on it. It should be a well detailed engine and a smooth powerful puller.
Back when I was in HO KATO was the engines to have, they were tops for quality.
