Thank you for your reply on power districts however I have another electrical issue with a reversing section. Using PSXAR from dcc specialties and it has been tested and wired correctly. This is my third one to install but this one shorts out at the gap. The locomotive hits the gap and the entire reverser goes dark. Like it doesn't acknowledge there is a train in the block and shorts the track out. The track is wired properly and I am using 14 awg for the buss and the track feeders. I'm stumped. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

when you say "DCC is an OPERATING system basically, making simple
the running of 2, 3 or more trains", are you suggesting it is similar to Windows or Linux?

i would say there are 3 components to DCC, the command station/booster, the controller and the decoders in the locos.

The train we have is a Lionel O-Gauge on Easy Track and the platform is 8X4. It is a figure 8 track and the transformer is basic with a bell and whistle.(the bell no longer works). I am looking into upgrading the transformer as I have a suspicion that there is one out there that would make this process easier. I want to have a push button that the kids with limited range of motion can press to activate the train. That is my main goal. Then I would like to figure out some scenery type things like a railroad crossing that can be activated with a button and other animated scenery.

Don, I'm still having problems with my old train engine. It is getting power, but the part that is supposed to spin does not spin. It moves freely when I use my finger. I cleaned and oiled the gears. At this point I don't know if it is worth spending money and time on or just get a new DCC engine. But I would at least like to get in touch with your contact who replaces old moters with new, more efficient ones.

    Thanks,
    Keith

Exactly...these are the calculations I would already have done within the first 3-5 minutes of picking up the unit. It's a knack not easily taught or explained...

I've seen it...in short, I don't do long distance technical help. Language barriers, miscommunications, tech knowledge and mechanical ability don't transfer online very well. But yes, I've done several and could probably fix it in half an hour. :)

Believe it or not, we don't have access to private messages, so I don't know how I'd get to it to see what's happening. :)

I've been away and didn't notice these requests.
