I suppose I should start a thread for this question, but I figured it would end up going to you for advice anyway, so here goes. I'm considering one of the Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 Baldwin steam locos in HO. It looks like their DCC is housed in the tender. My issue is my prototype used Vanderbilt tenders almost exclusively in the early days (the period I model). I have several of the MDC/Roundhouse Vanderbilt tenders (the short one). Have you ever tried to squeeze the pc card into one of these? Would you be willing to try?

Can a well matched pair of A & B units (speed wise) on DC, be matched equally well on DCC with a SDH164D and a DH163D decoders?
