I was just at Menards today, they used to have the employees wearing the Indycar or stock car shirts in the month of May along with the "Race To Savings" sale, they don't do that now. Remember when he bought the Buick V6 engine program just to run at Indy?
Menard's has sponsored big time auto racing for a LOOONNNNG
time. Way before deciding to offer model railroad cars, that's for sure. Lowe's and Home Depot both sponsor NASCAR cars.
LOTS of owners of retail outlets/items own or sponsor sports teams.
Like Kraft of the Patriots who owns Gillette.....Ford who owns the Lions.....Ilitch who owns the Tigers and the Red Wings.....Roger Penske who owns trucking companies and much more.....and on, and on, and on.
It's their "toy" and way to enjoy the money they've earned.
Frankly, I'm totally envious!
I met Paul Menard a couple years ago at the local Menard's. They had one of their NASCAR cars there as a promotion.
