I'm getting back into the hobby after a long, long absence. I had a fairly primitive N-scale layout when I was in my early teens, but, since I was given zero input into its design and construction, it more or less failed to really get the hobby into my blood.

Naturally, I'm kicking myself for having given all of the locomotives and rolling stock away years ago.

Currently planning a made up shortline in New Mexico. I'm still more or less undecided between Z scale, which will give me a certainty of fitting in all of the design and scenery I want in the size I'm wanting to stick to, but does not have any of the locomotives (I like switchers) I want, or N scale, which I fear will leave me feeling cramped or obligated to use very tight radius turns, since I'm wanting to do multiple 2'x4' modules, and I want at least the first to have continuous running capability.
Welcome aboard!

I'm sure you'll find help here with your train plans - good luck!

Hi Everyone, I just joined the group and am looking forward to learning a great deal! I've been interested in trains since I was 4 years old and started my first HO layout when I was 14 (had a paper route to get the money). I am still into HO and have started to convert to DCC. It's a great time to be in this hobby!
