Not so good experience with Model Railroader!

I've subscribed to MR off and on since 1958. My latest experience with them has left me totally uninterested in doing so again. I signed up for their video service a couple of weeks ago, but it won't let me watch videos even though it shows me signed in.

In addition, I checked the monthly billing subcription, but they charged me for the annual all at once. I had wanted to sample it a while before deciding on a larger subscription.

I've sent several emails requesting help, and even got an automated acknowlegement that they had recieved one of them, but to this time not a single response and no help. However, my email gets bombarded with spam from them suggesting I spend more money.

Meantime, I'm finding this forum an absolute delight to participate in.

Even with decades of experience, I often find new ideas in MR. This would be even more true for newer modelers.

Recently I've decided NOT to renew my subscription. MR just seems to be publishing articles that are virtually identical to what they have published before. The other reason is my own experience. It's been many months since I've seen an article with an idea that was new to me, and that I cared about reading. I'm an old analog guy. The latest blue tooth/PC control whiz bang doesn't grab me. In fact it flies by a mental mile over my old gray head. I know it would interest others, so I have no objection to it being in the magazine, It's just of no use to me. Neither is the umpteenth article on weathering, or other things they have covered dozens of times.
Now, if you are new to the hobby, the magazine, print, or digital, may be very helpful.
