I love unit trains. I have about 30 Atlas Billboard Reefers that make a nice train. Twelve of those reefers (2 six packs) are beer reefers - another nice train. I have 26 Pennsy coal hoppers. 17 Western Pacific Feather boxcars. I have on order, 6 Pennsy Merchandise Service Boxcars.

20 or 30 cars isn't a unit train. Unit trains are 60 or more and they all stay together, not humped apart at yards.

Co'mon Ken. This is the 3 rail forum. 60 cars aren't going to fit on a 4' x 8' layout. Cut us a little slack here.

This is a model railroading post. 60 cars is not always practical. A unit train is all the same type of car.

One of my unit trains is a 24 case of OL MILWAUKEEs!! I thought of getting a 30 pack but a 2 4 was enough.

LOL, most layouts couldn't handle a 60 car unit train.

Is that your definition... Or did you read this somewhere?

Either way. I disagree 100%
