I have been toying with the idea to convert one of my tables to something other than O Gauge trains (just wool-gathering during our isolation). I have a BUNCH of N Scale stuff to set up some day, so I am just musing to myself for the moment. With so much time on my hands, I have taken to dreaming and dreaming of things to do during this lull. I think I may have to actually do something, someday soon.

Lee I am interested in the Automotion FX system you wrote about. First, do you need to add a motor to the cars? I see that they will do a complete conversion if you send them a car. I imagine it would be quite expensive. How much do the pieces cost for the roadway? I also saw that they will soon have a pull-over for a gas station. This is really quite an interesting system. Hi Lee,
Don't know if you can help me. I endeavor to do 3 rail mid fifty's. You have demonstrated a bunch of knowledge in this area especially in vehicles in this time frame.
I can put my hands on a dept. 56 Graceland unit including the Elvis Pink Cadillac. Only desire the pink double fin. My questions.

What is the scale of the Cad? Will it fit into my 50's scale layout? Will it add "Rock and Roll" I lov the fifty's.

As your time permits, any and all comments from other readers are appreciated.

    Best Regards

    Tommy

trying to fabricate a battery seems excessive. if it isn't something I could do (and that certainly isn't), then best just to drop it. thanks for trying.

Thanks Lee, just sent him an email a few minutes ago so i'm hoping he can help out. God i hope he can find another one. I'm still kind of kicking myself for not pre-ordering it when they were new. Thanks for the help.

    Hi Mr. Willis,

I need your help. I read your post from back in october about how your friend Don Jones found a 3rd rail jawn henry steam turbine with the extra auxiliary tender in the 3 rail configuration for you. I've been on the hunt for one of those for about 2 years now. I would've ordered it from 3rd rail when it came out but was still paying off the 3rd rail GS-4 4449 from the previous year. My question to you is can your friend find another jawn henry in the 3 rail configuration with the auxiliary tender for me? Or is it possible you may know someone who has one that may be willing to sell it? It won't be a display piece, i plan to run it. I'm part of the chicagoland lionel railroad club in new lenox and we have monthly open houses throughout the year except in the summer. We have 2 open houses in december and i'd really like to wow the crowd with this engine if i can find one in time. any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks for your time.

    Hello Lee,

I found you through Google searches about 'slot car' boats that seem to be running around on top of water where no tracks are visible.

Could you explain how you did this?

I can't seem to find any products or 'how to'.

Could you point me in the right direction?

    Thank you and Happy Holidays!

How you doing Lee it has been a long time
I have had some major health issues but am doing pretty good now. I have been given a second chance at doing Train Display work for the city of Hinton Railroad Days and I am going to take the chance with what little i have left of my collection.
check my fresh post on the oScale board for information
hope to hear from you soon

Hi Lee. Tried to reach you through the O Gauge Forum but after a little detective work found you here. When looking at the thread about your layout, I was very interested in your use of Atlas track with Fastrack switches. Seems like it might be the best of both worlds. Do you have any close up pictures of the transition and any tips on how to make the track and switches look good and work well together? You can send your response to my email if you would like...ekaz88@aol.com

    Thanks,

    Lee,

In the "old days at OGR, you posted a clever, detailed way of obtaininf proper spacing for vehicles on super streets. Can you provide me with that thread. Thanks, Paul "Soxfan."

Lee I was just looking at OGR and someone commented that they would like to meet you and wish that you were still on the forum.

Rich posted that they are the reason you are not, that they messed up your ad, etc. he took full responsibility.

A couple of other people also commented that they miss your posts there. I thought that it was significant that Rich took the blame and did not simply hit delete.

Glad that you are here and always enjoy your posts. Most informative and fun too.

Hi Lee. We do not know the other, but I saw an amazing photo taken of your nineteen fifties "main street" model while googling for images from my childhood "time", specifically 1955 or so. Up came your amazing image. I am a storyteller here on Aquidneck Island in Rhode Island (the island on which the well known town of Newport is located). What sets me apart from other storytellers is that I tell tales from the fifties era, and read books read from that time to kids and the elderly in nursing homes. I bring with me artifacts from those times and pretend I am still living in that era. I am in need of some great photos from the town I supposedly live in. The photos I will show the kids to acquaint them with what they world looked like then from the cars to the trains to the storefronts. One or two of the photos could become a backdrop for my storytelling chair so it looks like I'm sitting in town. When I saw what you had created I immediately hoped I could find you and ask you if you could take some high res photos of your 50's village scenes and let me use them in my story telling events. If it would be best for me to travel down and photograph your model myself, I could do that sometime this summer if you gave me permission. Anyways, the simplest of course would be to ask if you have a nice copy of the photo (if a digital file) so that I could enlarge it. Well, thanks, Lee. My email is tim-johnson@comcast.net, and my membership name here (I joined so I could write you) is tin cup, the name of my art studio. Tim

Lee...thanks for the follow-up check on ad blocking. I actually took another members advice and downloaded a blocking program and so far it seems to work...

    Hi Lee,

I just saw an interesting article in Model Railroad Hobbyist magazine about a guy by the name of Ed Richardson making his own driveable vehicles using a radio from a drone, and servos used for steering. The magazine is free to download. Thought you might be interested.

    Hi Lee,

you and I corresponded when we were both on the other forum. it took a bit of detective work on my part to find your new "home." still hope to get up to Cary and visit your layout at some point. But today I have a question for your expertise. I am building some buildings for the back of my layout using Ameritowm fronts. I will add about 1 inch to all sides to permit lighting. i know nothing about LEDs. Can you briefly explain what I should purchase and ideayyl where to buy to include lifghts for thse buildings. Thanks so muc, Paul Bourbeau
