all code 100 atlas track ,# 4 atlas snap switches , 22 radius ,24 radius , ( have 18 radius but tying not to use ) , 3 boxes flex but have cut some already . 2 radius to the left on the layout was...

your right about not following , I did increase table width by a foot , and thought I would be able to have a 22 radius as the smallest . ( still trying to achieve that ) . as there is the 25 deg...

bus wire

first bus wire was solid 14 gage , using 12 stranded second time around .suitcase connectors correct size for the 14 gage .

don when I tore my first set up down I had used the suitcase connectors . the bus wire looked like broken spaghetti when I took the wire down . your right though , they are easy to install .this time...

I would be cutting bus wire in what ever length needed to connect terminal blocks in series , where I think would be best to put terminal block to add jumpers to rail . using 12 gauge stranded wire...

track joiners

the one thing I've noticed is there doesn't seem to be any consistency from one joiner to the next as far as force needed to slide on the tracks . trying to find a good way to tighten if too loose ....

something like this . just looking for ideas . not sure of the size . don't mind soldering something to it , but have ability to move wires around just in case .

I was talking about the switch itself , connecting to the circuit board . I have male /female connectors . just was looking for simple way to connect to circuit board. but thank you for suggestions ....

had powered rail joiners hooked to track . plugged in the power pack and hit power button .track power light blinks and then it flashed what looked like c5 . short somewhere ?

I would make a drop wire connector , wire to the 3 screws but then male/female connector at other end under table .

you were right , had some crappy joiners on layout . will replace ,doing dummy layout and just wanted check how engine would run thru the section I had laid . ill will do as suggested as far as...

have terminal blocks for wiring from 751s to the switch ( 2 rows ) , how do u handle the 3 wires needed . some way to run the common ?

nice pictures ,

thx for input . ill put track parallel and run 2 trains by one another and see what happens . ill lay 24 radius with ties to the line not centered .

that helps , I have enough terminals to feed every 2 ft then . I was testing some track to see how diesel would run , it died about 6 ft from where I alligator clipped juice to the track .

from the bus what is the longest a track feed wire can be ? using 22 awg for feed wire . ( I have read 12 to 18 inches ) can you go longer if necessary ?

old layout switches

the atlas switches were what I could afford , but I am using the 751ds cdu to run them . old retired guy so have to pay attention to what I spend . not sure how old some of the switches I have , but...
