I was going to get the book by Dave Frary, How to build realistic Model railroad scenery. I see there are 3 editions, is one edition better than the others besides the last one being newer? Are they just editied versions of each other or is the last edition show better more up to date techniques?
I have only the first edition, and it's a very good book on the subject. The second and third editions are most likely updated versions and may contain a bit more material, possibly including some newer techniques such as the use of extruded insulation foam board as a scenery base. That wasn't used in the hobby when the first edition was written. I suggest you get the third edition. It will have the most advice, including any new stuff.
Its a very good book. Dave is a scenery master. I have the first and now third edition. The latest just has more intuitive techniques. You'll love the book.
