Nice looking train. That engine looks massive.

Those Phoenix passenger cars look sharp. I've only recently learned about their aluminum passenger cars, so thanks for posting the photos.

Back in their day they were the top of the bar.

I have always admired their colors. I finally got a train together over the past couple of years with a Weaver Atlantic and some Lionel 18" cars. I don't know much about the Milwaukee Road but have since learned even some of their heavyweight cars were painted in those colors. I think K-Line and Lionel have done the heavyweight Olympian Hiawatha cars. Both have the maroon stripe over the windows. Has anyone done the cars with the maroon stripe at the top with the rest in orange that would better match the Atlantic tender? I believe some of illustrations show that scheme.

As a youngster in the fifties the Milwaukee Hiawatha passed through my hometown every afternoon. I don't remember any heavyweights, they must have already transistioned from heavyweights to streamliners by then. I remember the Milwaukee orange streamliners then they transistioned to the UP yellow.

The Bipolar looks great pulling the matching train. I have a Milwaukee Road passenger train too. It is the black Bipolar with the older one color scheme. I have yet to put it together...

Pete I may have a set of MTH Milwaukee Road heavy weights that are what you are talking about. Let me check...
