First Z scale purchase

I'm an HO guy but I would also like to have a simple Z scale layout. I prefer a Great Northern locomotive and just a basic oval that I can expand on. What would you purchase or recommend? Is flex track a good option in Z? What is the tightest curve I could put in for the average locomotive? Thanks.

Roukan has kick butt roadbed flex track in z scale. I bought one of their double ovals and another siding set.

I agree that Rokuhan has the best track. It's what I use. It is roadbed style track so if you don't like that; Atlas has entered the Z market with flex track and switches.
