Marklin wire connector track 8590

Can a straight track be use if you solder wire from the track to the transformer? What is that interference suppressor thing on a new connector track 8590 do? Is it really needed? Thanks

Marklin wire connector track 8590

Hello did you ever get the answer to this question ? as I started a tread New to Z gauge. But know one seams to no. Surely someone on here has wired direct to the lines from controller with no issue ???
