I like the design, but until model railroading came into my universe, I didn't even know they existed. They are very cool.

I actually traded in the PP&L version of the Shay yesterday and picked up the West Side Lumber Version. I Didn't like the paint on the PP&L Version.

I also picked up a few WSL Skeleton cars while I was there...

these babys were used on uneven, brocken rails, ties missing, 12% grades! logging and mining. awsome power. see these in action at CASS. google it. we have a few operational out here in N cali as well. I have a 12 ton three truck TMCC. Elk River #12 awsomwe action. My son and I got a cab ride on this one in fish camp at sugar pine railroad. NO 10!! never forget it.

engineer said he pulls this out of the shed in the moring with 25# of steam left from day befor! then lights the fire! very smoooooth!
all OSHA approved of coarse as you can see!
