USA Royal Ladies in Search of Nessie: 1927

The outcome is less than optimal. Enjoy?

Well...it was, um...interesting. It was, um...cute. The music was quite rhythmic. Not quite sure I followed the plot, though.

What kind of coaches are being pulled by the tank engine?

Thanks for watching. The plot: an imaginary society of Nessie believers go in search of the Loch Ness Monster to disprove allegations that Nessie is merely a figment of drunken imaginations. They do not find the LNM. One of their entourage is swept away by a giant housefly, instead. The end. This is a joke.

Sorry if I failed to get that across. I try to keep these vignettes short so as to not tax the audience, if any.

The longer coaches are Hornby. The shorter, weather beaten coaches I think are Air Fix kits. They came without couplers, and spares are very, very hard to find, if at all in the US. Following general prototype practice, I used a dime store chain link to connect those coaches. This proved easier said than done, too close and the buffers bound up, too long and the lateral tension pulled said coaches off the rails. After fiddling with these units over a year, I was able to get them to work
by hiding extra weight under the floor boards. The original
owner superglued the roofs to the chassis making an interior
approach impossible.
