ebtnut is correct, it is not glued, but snapped together and with some patience you can get it apart. If it's a cupola model, the cupola is snapped in place, too.
IMO it was a mistake to bend the brass wiper because you will never be able to reliably get it back in place if you wish to use it again.
On my cabeese (and all lighted cars) I add a capacitor to the LED driver board to eliminate dimming on track with dead spots, which you will always get, at least I do. The installed capacitors aren't enough to prevent dimming. If I add lights after the fact I use a full wave rectifier circuit so it will work on both DC and DCC.
