Never seen a 308 before. There was one on ebay last night that I kinda wish I had acquired. 308 is an Atlantic and according to my chart had choo choo but no smoke unit. Front pulmor wheels. This one looked fine and looked complete, it was untested. It only went for $18.00 plus shipping. Would have been worth that just to have a different cab number. 308 came with knuckle coupler. Plastic body.

The 308 was made in 1956 and is somewhat rare. It was intended to be inexpensive and used in set 5610T, the New Crusader. Three 800 series cars were in the set. It was also used in one 1956 uncataloged set and 3 1957 uncataloged sets. All sets used the 800 series freight cars.
According to some price guides an excellent condition 308 sells for more than a 4 piece 302 with wire handrails. I am not that kind of collector.
