Kato chassis screw

Hello, I have a new Kato ES44AC from the DC starter set in N scale. One of the two chassis screws has gone missing. Anyone know what type of screw it is?

My suggestion would be to remove the other screw and try at a hardware store to match it. Or write to Kato and see if they'll supply a new one. Good luck.

If you know what kind of screw it is (check the matching one, you can order one from any number of places.

You can also fill the hole with a styrene plug, add some MEK or styrene cement, which will soften then solidify it, and then drill and tap for a new hole.

Itll be a metric thread cutting or self tapping type screw most likely a 2.5mm or a 3mm. I order screws from McMaster Carr as well as other stuff
