This week, I picked up my second 3520 searchlight car.
I had one nice one, but for $17.50, I couldn't pass it up.
I'm glad I got it.
The searchlight has a reflector in it. What a difference!
But look at the dirve washers.
The thin one, on the right with the whimpy lugs turns much...
I have this Lionel Searchlight car #3520. This car has the on/off switch that's actuated by the uncoupling track. The problem is the speed-nut that holds down the switch mechanism has been removed many times so the switch insulating board has been reduced in size so that the speed-nut no longer...
The first picture shows an original lens to the search light car,but often enough they look like the second.
So what to do. You can order replacements. Ebay had two for 6 bucks or you can improvise and go to the local hardware store.
