Before I tear a loco apart ....
On a pre/post war AC motor, if you disconnect the field winding from the frame, would the motor (field & brushes) be electrically isolated from both sides of rail power? Seems like it would but I though I get a second opinion.
Some of you may remember my build to represent U-2-c 6153 from a post-war Lionel Berkshire. I have begun an up-grade to try and bring her closer to the 'real thing'. So far she has been torn down and is ready for detailing.
