I talked with Jeff from the Train Tender early on when I first started ordering parts, He strongly suggested getting a manual for parts description. It was worth the investment to get a manual and a few of the era guides for reference.

Is there a manual out there that doesn't break the bank? Saw the "Complete Service... for Lionel" for well over $100.
