I was at my hobby sop today he had a 310. He wanted me to make him offer i said i need more info i tryed web nothing i looked in my k-line book had no 310 want to know value nice shape white rim lose . need opinion. Thanks al

That is a 1946 310 in the ebay link. 310's were made in 1946 and 1947. In the same condition a 1946 is worth more than a 1947. Value of these is also very dependent on condition. The advantage you have is you can closely examine the engine in the hobby shop. The one in the ebay listing is priced about right for that engine, were it a 1947 I would say $20 less. If it were a 1946 solid #8 condition I would say $90 to $100. The one on ebay looks like a #6 condition. 1946 has round head rivets, a thin shank coupler and Pennsylvania on the tender. A 1947 has hex head rivets, a thick shank coupler and American Flyer Lines on the tender.

If not I would start at 20 bucks and work my way up to what is the most I would be willing to pay.

I agree with Big Ed 100%. Start low, and see what happens.. He might say $25 bucks and then you have a great deal.Heck, if the engine you saw is complete with nothing broken/missing, any counter-offer up to $50 bucks is still a fairly good deal, as long as it runs.. But don't forget, the 310 doesn't have smoke or choo choo, like Al said. Not running, I would offer $50 dollars for it, but only after haggling, I wouldn't go anymore..
