So I picked up a Joshua Cowen 6-8210 4-6-4, and the drive gears are obviously in need of change, how tough of a job, how available are parts ? Made in 1982 I know I'm up against it, maybe have to buy similar with bad shell and swap out?
Thoughts?

The gears are #8600-119 and #8600-143
The parts diagram for this engine is here, pages 15-69 &15-70

You need to pull off the drive wheels with a wheel puller, and be able to replace them square on the axle and in quarter, best done with a wheel press.
