Stunning scene. I wonder why I never see realistic scenes like this in O scale.

HO and N seems to have the market cornered on realism.

Thats about as realistic as it gets. I love seeing scenes like this, that make you just want to get up and go perfect the layout😉

It's refreshing (and rare) to see a street or a road rendered in a proper gray, rather than a stark toy-world black.
We would all do well, to note this color... and remember it.

Maybe you don't look hard enough beyond HO?
They are out there,

That's an extremely realistic scene. Interestingly, Angel's Flight was the title of a Michael Connelly novel and is the name of the hotel in the picture.

Very nice bus and scene. Someday I'll be able to do this good a job.
Now one comment from an old fart who rode on those buses and through towns similar to yours.
The street lights look a little too modern for my liking. One piece aluminum poles are fairly new and may have been in use during the later years of GM production years 1958-77. I would use an older design.

here's another random one i found. i kinda look at it like this, if i was thumbing through a stack of photos of real trains would i immediately realize these are of models? some are so good, i think I would not. (in this solid horns stand for me but otherwise...)

When it comes to Rapido... It is always about the details.

Came across this video while searching for some HO Alco PA's.

To the best of your knowledge, does any other manufacturer gather this much detail before producing a new product?

Jägerndorfer, Bemo, Piko. ESU and Roco are the ones that I know of. I'm sure other German and Austrian manufacturers do as well.

This is a video from Roco in Austria. Notice the factory workers are German and not Chinese...

I saw that vid. Call me a little bit of skeptic on that sampling technique. Bet the data is noisy as heck. But I don't know for sure of course.
