Yeah, i read on that today. He was reported as 93 by Yahoo news, but who cares?
That train is something else the way it's propelled. It works like the canisters factories and banks use in those vacuum tubes to transport mail all over.

One thing: Unless I missed it somewhere, they don't say what scale that monorail is. Maybe standard gauge? Or bigger?

If the magnet assembly inside the tube is magnetically connected to the car, wouldn't there be a lot of friction between the magnets and the tube itself? Or is there a micro space (rollers, maybe?) maintained between them?

OK, after watching again, I see rollers on the "thrust carriage". My questions are answered.

Ingenious! It's a large-scale demonstration model of a modern version of an old idea, the atmospheric railway of the 1800's. Some atmospheric railways were built as early as the 1840's but none were truly practical due to engineering limitations. But the idea may have new potential for special applications with modern technology.

An atmospheric train does not need weighty machinery on board, and steep grades are possible because it does not rely on rail adhesion for propulsion.
