I have a Life Like locomoticve that I want to remove factory decals from a Life Like Locomotive.

Here in Mexico many products are not available that are used in USA. It is very expensive and takes time to get an international delivery of many of the products I read about. Even if I did order a product it seems there is no guarantee it will work

Are there alternatives of more common products rthat I can use?

I tried soaking in water overnight and no luck

The lettering/road name may not be a decal; if it's factory, then its likely painted lettering, which can be removed with painter stripper/remover....

Although you have to be careful that the paint stripper does not melt/distort the plastic....

I might try sanding then
That will work... but it will leave scratches on the shell which will need to be buffed out.

Paint stripper is a better idea. Isopropyl alcohol is usually effective as a paint stripper.

I used 320 Grit, then 600 grit then 0000 Steel wool and it looks good. Could probablyuse a buffing still.
