I have an American Flyer that I'm trying to identify. The number on the locomotive is 169 but I haven't been able to locate it in any American Flyer service manuals. It's a good looking locomotive and runs like a champ after some minor repairs/cleaning. Attached are a picture and a short video of it in operation. Appreciate the feedback.AF 169 (link of it running)

Looks like the backend of plastic Atlantic with part of the boiler spliced onto a plastic Pacific like a 282 engine. It isn’t a factory engine. Someone has had some enjoyment in creating something different.

I have been looking at the "169" very carefully and cannot see where the two different locomotives were joined. I have attached several photos and perhaps you can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Your pictures are great but not focused on the motor details. It appears the engine does have a newer style PulMor Motor based on what appears to be a narrow, rather than wide, pole gap. To my eyes, the core stack looks like it is 1/2”, not 3/4”.
I think flyernut was referring to a motor with a 3/4” core stack, which is commonly referred to as a “large“ motor.
