The is a HUGE show, and well worth the time to attend. Unfortunately, I have a prior commitment and can't go this year (it will be my first miss in 10 years).

Some pointers:
1) Prepare to do a lot of walking, especially if you arrive later in the morning. There is lots of parking, but it can be a hike to the show buildings. And you have about 10 acres of exhibits to cover.

2) Bring a couple of reusable shopping bags to carry stuff. Not all vendors have bags.

3) As with any show, know what you're prepared to pay before you go in. I've seen "Show Specials" that were higher than MSRP.

4) The Better Living Center is the biggest venue, but don't overlook the other buildings. Some of the better vendors are in the Mallory, Stroh, and Young Buildings.

5) If you can avoid eating at the show, do so. It's incredibly expensive and not particularly good.

6) Signs will direct you to take State Rt 147 (Memorial Ave) through the heart of West Springfield. Instead, take SR 52 to Main Street, and turn onto Memorial Ave from the WEST. This will bypass most of the traffic.

So thankful to the Amherst Society

I have been attending the show for over 15 years and love it. We have grown from sharing a table with Precision Lasercraft to having 2 tables and now we are up to 8 tables.
We enjoy being just one of the many vendors. It is nice for us because Springfield is about 3 hours from home. The Amherst Society and the crew of people that run the show have always made it a good show for us. I hope you had a chance to come visit us this year and we look forward to next year.

I can say it was a great show, and I did my best to support the vendors there. Picked up some really good deals from USA trains on some freight cars, and got some LGB cars from a guy who inherited a big collection. And a shopping bag full of track. I should probably do this every other year :)

Thanks, I'm from Bollinger Edgerly Scale Trains
Ah! In that case, I'm sure we've chatted a few times over the years! You guys are great! I love your little detail parts, and I have a couple of your building kits, too. In fact, about 4 years ago, you personally spent about 10 minutes finding a crossing shanty kit that I wanted to buy. THAT'S customer service!

In fact about 5 or six years ago, you folks gave my son a small kit for his layout! He thought that was the greatest thing ever!

Sorry I missed the show this year. Hopefully, I'll be back next year.
