This was my dad's caboose when he was model railroading over 50 years ago. It was pretty busted up when I got it, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. The broken roof corners were the worst issue. I restored it to functionality rather than try to make it look new, making the missing window frame look old and worn is going the opposite direction from normal.
I have purchased a few things because I remembered them from my childhood but this is the only piece I have that actually came from dad's layout. Also a pic with the Ten-Wheeler it will be chasing from now on

That's a nice looking caboose. If anyone bugs you about the dirt on it, just say you weathered it. :laugh: You did a nice job making replacements for those missing corners. Good work! :thumbsup:

Happily, my brother found two more cars he got from dad. I remember the Globe car and the Fox trucks from the other one. They were saved from "The Great Train Robbery" (Someone broke into his storage unit) because they were in a box awaiting major repair. I repaired and replaced but I couldn't match the brown of the sides. They'll be on my layout for a long time.
