My layout isn't really far enough along to run operations but enough so that I can start to see how JMRI Operations will work on my layout.

I'm wondering if anyone else uses JMRI Operations. Also, are any members here JMRI collaborators?

Nope. I know about them but it is not my thing: just makes my hobby more like work - Ugh.

Still, good luck finding others here. I imagine it is popular.

This question would be better asked in the "dcc" sub-forum.

I use JMRI (running on a MacBook Pro), but only for programming, not actually for running.

For running, I use a Roco z21 and a Samsung Galaxy (Android) tablet.

But JMRI runs fine "through" the z21 box.

I think you may have misunderstood. JMRI Operations is part of Panel Pro, not Decoder Pro. It is not DCC specific. It is a way of routing trains and moving "freight" around your layout and works on a DC layout as well.
