As far as detail goes they are good for their day. Their drive lines are bullet proof and simple to maintain. With proper maintenance they are highly reliable. The BB locos predate most DDC systems but I have see several with them retrofitted. Most of my running fleet are BB locos. I run DC. Most of them are under $30 used. I recently got an SW1500 Calf Cow set for $35.00. All but the earliest have flywheels. The mail thing to look for is if all of the hand rails are there and the condition of the shell. The lones in your picture look real nice.
