HI I was just wondering are these decoders any good for basic decoder for switchers vs digitrax basic

It kind of depends whether you want sound or not, doesn't it. Personally, I don't want sounds from my locos, so I go with a basic model from Digitrax, NCE, or TCS.

I use the Soundtraxx MC1H102P8 in several HO engines, including:
  • Proto2000 GP30 (3 of 'em)
  • (old) Proto2000 GP9

They work well, and they are very compact (postage-stamp sized).

These are "motor control only", NON-sound decoders.

Yankeedabber.com is my "go-to" vendor. Choose "by weight" shipping -- only $3.
