And I never knew that everything including the micro-bus and the pick up had the same wheelbase. There are about a half dozen VWs in my diecast collection. And last year I actually bought my first real VW…a Jetta GLI. VW is one of the few manufacturers that is still making cars with a manual trans that are kind of fun to drive.
What is the gray convertible in the lower right of the first photo?
I loved the little factoid about the standard wheelbase, I suspect that was so they could just stamp out the chassis for any of the "standard" models. I never heard of some of the unusual variants, interesting little story.
