Very interesting subject matter, I remember these vehicles well, but never owned one. As a matter of fact, I don't have a model either. Does not stand in the way of a fascinating read.
Amazing how many cars with suicide doors existed, I had no idea they were that popular. I wonder if they'll ever come back, seems like there were some advantages in some situations.
Lee: i HAVE A '52 Studebaker Commander sedan with rear hinged doors. The last year used on Studebakers. I thinks they rear hinged doors were designed primarily for engineering reasons. The center post on most automobiles bodies is the weak point.
My sister had one of the mentioned Suburu 360s. The dammed thing cost only $1300 new in 1970. A 2strole 2 cylinder engine, what a heap of crap.
