the 50 ton Bachmann Whitcomb, how is the quality and reliability?

I bought 2 Davenport ON30 Bachmanns that were junk, the drivers were out of synch with each other, got a Railbus brand new with broken gear, got a brand new Trolley with broken gear, BUT I believe all were old new stock.

So I'm iffy about Bachmann but love the ON30 detail. Has anyone owned and operated the Whitcomb? Was is good?

I bought two DCC Davenports quite a few years ago. The gears stripped on one of them, so it's unusable. The other one can be very iffy in terms of picking up the current. I can understand why they seem to be no longer available.
