Reynauld's sent me an ESU Loksound 4.0 sound decoder for my new ACME BR.120 ZDF Express DB locomotive and I received it today.

After soldering leads to the speaker and solding thse to the provided pads I installed the decoder with much anticipation.

I found out that the decoder is bad and will not program. The NEC Powercab cannot read the CV's for the manufacturer or the card.
I tried multiple times without any change.

I then took the 21 pin sound decoder from my TRIX BR.187 DB locomotive and installed it in the new ACME locomotive. It ran fine, though it had the BR.187 sounds. That was to verify the new locomotive circuitry was good.

I sent a polite email to Renauld's about an exchange and I'm waiting to hear back.

Hopefully this goes well. I've never had to make a return for defective merchandise to them.

That's good to hear. Mine is on it's way back to Renauld's. He told me to send it back and would see about replacing it.
