Quick question:

I just laid out the track bed for my main line and plan on installing a dcc setup on my layout. In most of the articles I have read it states that at this point, before the track is layed, you are suppose to drill a 1/2 inch hole directly under the turnout so that a switching machine can be installed underneath to switch the turnout.

IS this correct? Just making sure before I drill a hole into my track bed.

Have not decided on one yet, what would you suggest for a DCC system? I have 4 turnouts on my layout.

depends on what brand of track you using and what kind of switch machine you want (slow mo or coil) and how you going to mount it. if you going with atlas and thinking about tortoises, a hole (or rather a slot ) exactly underneath a throw bar sounds about right

I have atlas track code 100.

What would the difference be between slow mo vs coil, clearly I have not put enough thought into this step.
