This is a Mantua 0-4-0 that someone converted to a cab-forward 2-4-0. It was advertised as running but when I put it on the track, nothing. Turns out it required a tender and I just happened to have a spare so a pair of wheel pickups made from a soda can later and it does run. I cut off the light on the other end of the boiler because it made it look like it was running backwards. The cab is a brass casting from a company called Kemtron. I doubt anyone's seen anything even vaguely similar to this? Also, what is the electronic gizmo soldered between the brush posts on the motor? I've seen similar in old transistor radios but none of my other engines with the same motor have similar wiring.
