I NEED INSTRUCTIONS ON OPENING THE SMOKE BOX ON A N&W Y6 MADE BY BLI. I CANNOT FIND ANY INFO ON THIS PROCEDURE. IT IS NEW BUT THE REAR ENGINE GEARS ARE SLIPPING AN EASY FIX MAYBE IF I CAN GET INSIDE TO THE MOTOR ETC. THANKS BILL

I’m not sure if you exactly need to do that. Bli usually utilizes 2 screws under the motor to hold it in place. At least on the straight framed locos. Never have been into an articulated from them yet. Would be an interesting adventure. If you end up figuring it out let me know what it was. Like hearing resolved issues

This from BLI. Sorry to hear you are having trouble with that engine, we will be happy
to assist you.

To take the boiler shell off the steam dome cap in the middle on the top
of the boiler comes off. A screw is under there. This will release the
boiler shell but you will also have to disconnect the grab-irons on the
cab.

Removing Steam Shell

Removed the screw under the steam dome cap cover and was able to lift up the front of Smoke Box up far enough to see the Plastic worm gear cover had come loose. Reached in with a flat blade screw driver pressed the clip back in place now it works like a engine should. Bill
