So I bought some model train stuff off a guy including a number of box cars with just the upper portion. New bottom or trucks. I don't seem to be able to find any bottom halves online to my surprise. Anyone know of a solution to this problem?

You would probably be better off to get complete used boxcars
for around 3 to 5 $ at train shows. You could
use your bottomless 'shells' for scenery 'storage' units
on your layout.

FWIW, if the suggestion to replace them with used stuff isn't in the cards, you could make boxcar floors out of basswood, attach Tichy bolsters, and slap plastic trucks on them.
Kadee #5 couplers with gearboxes to finish them up.

Better yet, Accurail sells boxcar parts, including floors and underbody details.

Not true, by a long shot. If you have to pay, say, Shapeways to do it, then maybe so, but my Anycubic Photon could print it for about $0.75 in resin cost.

Well, considering the guy is buying cheap used train stuff with a whole bunch of missing parts, he likely doesn't have $600 laying around to buy a 3D printer......

Could be wrong, but I highly doubt it.....
