Ok, seriously, what am I missing about brass engines? I went to a club event and was running my new Athearn Genesis SD60M along with a guy running some brass engine that he kept bragging about the was over $900. Huh?!?!?!?!

I asked why it was so expensive and was told it was because of the detailing, well maybe, but not $900 worth! Then he said it was about running gear etc... well, I still don't think so as mine outpulled his easily up a steep pass.

So, tell me then, what is it about them?

I have one brass engine it's a Sunset and it is detailed more than my Athearns but if you like performance more than detail and not to mention price Athearn the way to go.

These trains I have were my brothers and I have just started messing with them the sunset I don't think had ever been run but with the help from some of the forum guys I got it going I ran it for a bout 10 min. and put it up. Its a cool little engine but it looks better than it performs.
