First time I ever looked at the calender.
I think it needs a little updating as you can only search to 2006.
Unless I did something wrong, or didn't see something.:D

The forum didn't exist before 2006 :)

Well then BOSS man, it's all screwed up then.

When did the site originate?
That would make for a nice refresher thread as to how you came about starting a RR site?
What's everyone think? Should we have a poll?:D

I (we?) don't hear too from you much.:D

I was reading a bunch of your old posts, as I was bored and was trying to see if I could find out any history about the site.
The only thing I found out about was the elephant. Then I had to do something.

Great Site!:thumbsup::D
Hop in the old box car and share our can of beans. Tell us some stories while we all ride the rails, on the endless internet.

Give us some of your views.

Fix the calender too, please. Or is unfixable?

One of my hobo buddy's painted this of BIG ED (in my younger years TJ), going on a 4 week vacation of riding the rails.:D

No first class dining car for you, Big Ed?!?
Thats the only way to ride the rails. For free.
I got a box car next in line with hatches on top to jump into if we hit rain.:D

And a water tanker hooked up behind the box, to take a bath.

*LOL* I checked with B&M and he says the calendar is the Mayan one. Yeah, it's a little out of date, but we're all scheduled to die in 2012 anyway, so I wouldn't sweat the calendar!

CLASSIC! Too funny!

If by some strange twist of the fate from the Gods I happen to outlive 2012, I put "dibs" on T-Man's stash of train goodies. (Sorry, T-Man ... Reckers says your doomed!)

There isn't much of a story around the site... I had been working with a lot of other forums, mostly automotive related, with my day job at the time. I had just started getting back into the hobby after taking some time off as my career developed so it seemed like a good project. I had a server in a datacenter already, registered some domain names, installed vBulletin and that was pretty much it. I had a friend help my do some of the basic design and colors, but for the most part it has not changed at all.

The site was very tiny up until about 18 months ago when it started to get alot bigger. All the 'old timers' can be credited with creating the atmosphere for growth. Sure, a couple feathers have been ruffled here and there but things have worked out fine :)

Also, I'm still kinda clueless as to what the problem with the calendar is?
